Evaluation 5-10 Minute Film

Evaluation 5-10 Minute Film At the beginning of this project we looked into stereotypes. When it came to the 5-10 minute project we decided to take this further and look into gender stereotypes specifically. From this research we settled on a YouTube esque style. This changed dramatically from our original idea where we were going to create an advertisement of women doing the 'domestic jobs' such as cooking and cleaning and juxtapose it with a man being the bread winner. However; we always planned on reversing the stereotypes we used and this is how we decided on having a man applying make up. Throughout the filming process we worked well as a team, coming together to help each other out. As we had a two camera set up Charlotte helped Alex out with the cinematography while I was with Fran, helping her pick out an outfit and specific make up products to use. Me and Charlotte then helped Josh with the application of the make up and what to say throughout. During the edit me a...

Transcripts

Transcripts   All audio was recorded by Charlotte French. We recorded our actress, Frances Wilkinson as we believe she has a good voice for the piece.  Blush: So for blush today I’m going to be using mac mineralised blush in the shade love joy, I really like this one as it just has a hint of sparkle and it’s more of a bronze tone, which I think works better with my skin tone. Brows: For my brows I use two products, I use the soap and glory brow archery pencil in blonde shell, I use this to daw in the few little hairs that are missing and I find that it matches my eyebrows really well. And then I use the Kiko Milano eyebrow fibres coloured mascara just to set everything in place and make sure my eyebrows aren’t going to move throughout the day. Contour: Okay so for contour I tend to use two products together so for my main contour I use the mac powder blush in the shade raisin, I use this to contour my cheekbones. And then I use the white colour in the fre...

Contributors   Here is the contributor research I conducted. I approached Joshua as I knew that he had facial hair, a property we were looking for in this film. I was also fairly confident that he would be up for the role as we have joked about applying make-up in the past and he was part of one of my first year films so I know hes's not camera shy. I also contacted Frances Wilkinson, my flat mate, as she perfectly fits the stereotypical pretty girl with the long blonde hair. Thankfully Joshua and Frances were available on the same days so they were the perfect pair to work with as we could decide on a shoot day and a re-shoot.
